NEW AUSTRALIAN POLLING SHOWS PLUMMETING SUPPORT FOR AN ETS

Posted: 7th February 2010

Polling commissioned by ACSC and released February 7th shows the level of support for the government's emission trading scheme has fallen to 33% of Australian voters.

The falling level of support confirms similar polls released recently by Roy Morgan Research.  General support for the theory of man-made CO2 emissions significantly affecting climate is also falling.

The Roy Morgan research, undertaken before many of the recent credibility revelations hit the IPCC showed 46% of Australians supported an ETS.  This support has now declined rapidly to only one third of voters.

Research undertaken for the BBC News and released February 5th shows only 26% of UK respondents believe in the theory of man-made global warming.

BOY, ARE WE GLAD WE DID NOT COMMIT TO THE ETS

Posted: 20th December 2009

Australian oppositon to the proposed emissions trading scheme, which was defeated in the senate several weeks ago appears vindicated following the debacle that marks the Copenhagen Accord.

"Australian families and industry would have been locked into the costs of a binding commitment to reduce greenhouse emissions if the legislation had passed, when clearly there is little political will to do the same globally" said the executive director of the ACSC, Max Rheese.

"The ACSC looks forward to a real debate on the costs and claimed benefits of an emissions trading scheme in 2010 and how this will 'stop global warming'."

Widespread agreement amongst the commentariat that the government has comprehensively failed to detail how the proposed legislation will affect its citizens is a factor in the strengthening trend of opposition to the scheme amongst voters.

Numerous articles published highlight the changed political landscape in Australia.

PROF AYNSLEY KELLOW BLOWS THE LID OFF CLIMATEGATE FRAUD

Posted: 7th December 2009

Professor Aynsley Kellow, Head of the School of Government from the University of Tasmania in an interview with Michael Duffy of ABC National Counterpoint explains the implications of the manipulation of computer codes available following the release of East Anglia Climate Research Unit data by computer hackers.

It is obvious this is much more serious than some emails berating climate realists, this is the manipulation of raw data used to form conclusions that are supplied to the IPCC.
