NZ CLIMATE COALITION GOES TO COURT OVER TEMPERATURE RECORD

NZ CLIMATE COALITION GOES TO COURT OVER TEMPERATURE RECORD

Posted: 15th September 2010

The NZ Climate Science Coalition has launched a High Court action seeking to invalidate the official NZ temperature records, which it believes are incorrect and a false basis for policy decisions.  This is believed to be the first time climate records will be subject to judicial reveiw.

“Many scientists believe that, although the earth has been in a natural warming phase for the past 150 years, it has not heated as much as Government archives claim. The precise trend figure is extremely important, as it forms the sole basis of the claim that human activities are the dominant cause of the warming" said Brian Leyland of the NZCSC.

A CUNNING BID TO SHORE UP THE REMAINS OF THE IPCC

Posted: 10th September 2010

Christopher Booker from the U.K Telegraph queries the logic presented in the recent Inter-Academy Council report on the IPCC.  And when read in conjunction with John McLean's article in the pdf below it is easy to conclude there are more questions than answers.

"A report on the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, on behalf of the world's leading scientific academies, last week provoked even some of the more committed believers in man-made global warming to demand the resignation of Dr Rajendra Pachauri as chairman of the IPCC. But is the report all that it seems?"

CLIMATE PANEL MUST BE PURGED

Posted: 6th September 2010

Author Matt Ridley in an article published in The Australian notes different standards applying to reviews of scientific procedures.

"This week, after a four-month review, a committee of scientists concluded that the Nobel prizewinning UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has "assigned high confidence to statements for which there is very little evidence, has failed to enforce its own guidelines, has been guilty of too little transparency, has ignored critical review comments and has had no policies on conflict of interest".

Enormous and expensive policy changes have been based on the flawed work of these scientists. Yet there is apparently to be no investigation, blame, suspension or withdrawal of papers, just a gentle bureaucratic fattening of the organisation with new full-time posts."

CLIMATE APOCALYPSE POSTPONED

Posted: 6th September 2010

Mark Lawson, jounalist with the Australian Financial Review tracks the predictions of the U.K Met Office.

"In late 2009 the UK Meteorological office solemnly warned the world that it expected 2010 to be warmer than 1998, the hottest on the instrument record. (“Climate could warm to record levels in 2010”, Met Office, December 10, 2009)

A bastion of global warming theory, the Met Office went on to say that a record warm year is “not a certainty”, as the el Niño cycle then developing in the Pacific may give out early, and was referring to 2010 as a whole rather than the first few days of the year in the UK. But the release’s timing was most unfortunate as it had barely been issued before Britain was literally buried in snow, and exceptionally cold conditions had grounded airline traffic and stopped public transportation systems."
