HIDING THE DECLINE - AGAIN
Professor Richard Muller, of Berkeley University in California, and his colleagues from the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperatures project team (BEST) claimed to have shown that the planet has warmed by almost a degree centigrade since 1950 and is warming continually.
But not only did that warmist media misunderstand the debate, it overhyped a study that’s now being disowned by one of its own authors.
Professor Judith Curry, a leading member of Prof Muller’s team has accused him of trying to mislead the public by hiding the fact that BEST’s research shows global warming has stopped.
LINDZEN RESPONDS TO MEDIA REPORTS OF BEST STUDY
Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT, Richard Lindzen and David Douglass, professor of physics at the University of Rochester responded to media reports on the conclusions of the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature project showing continuing global warming.
REALITY BITES IN THE U.K. - WILL OZ BE NEXT?
The political reality of 'green' energy programs is being sheeted home to the U.K. government as taxpayers and business revolt over expensive green taxes.
U.S. GAO CONFIRMS TEMPERATURE RECORD FLAWED
Meteorologist Anthony Watts has long campaigned for an examination of the integrity of the U.S. land-based temperature record used as part of the global dataset for changes in global temperature.
Watts belief that many of the measuring stations have been comprimised through nearby development and changes led him to investigate and report on his findings.
The U.S. General Accounting Office has vindicated his report findings that the data is flawed.
His report is available in pdf at the end of this post as is the GAO report.

SHOULD THE TAXPAYER FUND THE GOVT's "SAY YES" MEN?
The recent taxpayer funded advertising campaign spruiking the carbon tax legislation ran over budget and cost almost $24 million to sell a message to voters, who according to the latest Nielsen poll, almost 60% of whom are opposed to the legislation.
One could argue the government of the day has a right to provide 'information' to voters about important legislation. It is however harder to accept that taxpayers should be funding sycophant advocacy groups selling a political message the majority of voters are opposed to.
It was revealed in senate estimates hearings that $3 million of taxpayer funds were distributed to green groups who "have backed Labor's package to fight off the Opposition's campaign against the policy."
It is certainly a very dubious method of selling poor public policy.
THE 4 GREAT LIES OF CLIMATE CHANGE POLICY
Martin Feil, an economist writing at the ABC's website The Drum details the failings of the policy message sold to the Australian public.
"A complex, multi-faceted issue such as climate change is a perfect opportunity for obfuscation and diversion. The opportunity is even more compelling when the public purse is available to pay for the messages".
